6 reasons to Immerse yourself in a Yin Yoga Training

Considering joining a yin yoga teacher training but not sure if it’s the right thing for you? Well, from experience I can say that anyone who is considering it for any reason will find a benefit. Regardless of your motives or reason for coming to this practice, not only will you gain transformational insights and wisdom but the others in the training will learn just as much from you. Maybe you’re someone who wants to deepen your own practice but don’t necessarily want to teach, maybe you’re already a teacher and want to expand your knowledge, or maybe you’re somewhere in between - a teacher training can be one of the best places to fully immerse yourself in the philosophy, practice, self-discovery, personal growth, and wisdom of these teachings. Not only does it allow you to expand your practice but it takes your relationship with yourself and others to a deeper level.

Physically

A yin yoga teacher training offers you so many opportunities to physically explore your body and get to know the intricate inner workings of your anatomy so that you can safely move and promote health and longevity to your whole being. You’ll have the opportunity to not only explore yin and yang movement practices but also learn what makes each and every person so unique and how to approach your practice from a more inclusive and safe space.

Mentally

The practice of Mindfulness has now been proven to have significant effects on the human body:

  • Improves blood pressure and lowers heart rate

  • Lowers Sympathetic Nervous System (SNS)/Stress response

  • Increases Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS)/Rest response

  • Improves digestion

  • Lowers inflammation

  • Increases immune function

When on a teacher training you’re immersed in these practices and learn new tools and techniques that you can use for yourself and share with others. We’ll explore meditation, mindfulness neuroscience, and so much more so that you know and understand how your brain operates, how your mind functions, and how you can take greater control over your own mental health.

Emotionally

During this yin teacher training we explore tools from a trauma-informed approach that help you to explore, name, and navigate emotions and learn what it means to self-regulate and co-regulate. What this means is that you’ll learn more about the science of emotions, anatomy of trauma, and how to work through these internal experiences for yourself as well as how to hold space for others.

Energetically

It is said that Yin yoga may help to restore the balance of energetic flow within the bodily systems and increase the flow in and through the organs. It is also said that the practice may create internal pulsed magnetic fields that can restore cellular health and stimulate optimal cellular responses. By diving into a Yin yoga teacher training you can experience for yourself the profound shifts and impact it has on your own energy flow as well as balancing the energies within you.

Spiritually

The foundations from which yoga comes from is a way of life, a path one walks. For some, it embodies their spirituality through the deepening of understanding of the yoga sutras, 8-limbs, and philosophy of this transformational practice. You do not need to subscribe to any particular religion or spirituality to practice yoga or find benefit from it, this is simply an avenue which some will explore and notice profound teachings within.

Community

Within all of this, one of the greatest benefits of immersing yourself in a yoga teacher training is the community you become a part of. Surround yourself with like-minded people who are learning and sharing alongside you. As you deepen your connection with the above elements you may also find that you show up and participate differently in your local and global community as your step further into your truth.

If you feel the call within to explore Yin at a deeper level, I have three upcoming trainings around the South Island of New Zealand in 2021. Please do not get hesitate to get in touch to find out more information: amanda@theselfagencyacademy.com
